Soul Touching

Five year old Elena walked into the living room to see her father reading the newspaper on the couch. She walked over to him and started to pull on his shirt.

"Daddy, can I ask you a question?" Bruce set the paper down next to him and nodded his head.

"How much money do you make an hour?" Bruce was taken back by this before finding an answer.

"Don't you go around and ask people that, its not very lady like, but if you must know I make 256 dollars an hour." There was a moment of silence before he turned back to the paper.

"Daddy can I barrow fifty?" Bruce started to get angry and placed the paper down again.

"I work hard for my money and for you to ask me that is very inappropriate. Go to your room and go to bed, I don't care what time it is, I want you in bed and sleeping." Saddened by this, she left the living room and headed up to her room and shut the door and started to cry.

After about an hour of cussing, Bruce started to calm down. 'Maybe she really needs it for something.' He thought. He stood up and made his way to Elena's room. He knocked before opening the door.

"Elena, are you awake sweetheart?" Bruce asked walking over to the bed and taking a seat on the edge.

"Yes daddy, I am up." She said sitting up to look at him. He smiled at her and brushed her hair with his hand.

"Sorry I got angry with you and my actions should have not taken place but here you go." He handed her the money she had asked for earlier and smiled at her as she took it.

"Thank you, now I have enough." She said and reached under her pillow and retrieved 206 dollars. Bruce started to get angry again but remained calm.

"If you have all that money why would you need more." She looks up with a smile and handed him the money.

"See now I can pay you the hour to be with me and have dinner together." Bruce pulled Elena into his arms and held her tightly close you his chest.

"I'll change my schedule for us to have dinner every night together."
